Student Veterans
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) welcomes student veterans attending the University of Michigan to use our counseling and support services. Members of our staff understand issues and transitions you might be experiencing as a result of being deployed and attending the University. If our staff can’t provide appropriate services, we will refer you to a counselor or support person within the University or to providers in the Ann Arbor community.
Talking to someone at CAPS may be beneficial if you are experiencing personal concerns such as depression, anxiety or panic, flashbacks or frequent nightmares, grief, alcohol and drug abuse, relationship issues or any other area of personal concern for you.
CAPS staff can also work with you with any academic difficulties you might be facing such as procrastination, time management, perfectionism, attention/concentration and/or improving study habits.
We encourage you to consider contacting CAPS for confidential support. We believe that talking to someone about your concerns is not a sign of weakness, but is an indication of strength.
