CEW announces the launch of the new University of Michigan Abuse Hurts website offering information and resources for members of the University community touched by domestic or dating violence. For the last three years, CEW Associate Director for Advocacy Susan Kaufmann has led the cross-University UM Abuse Hurts Initiative on Domestic and Sexual Violence; the last two, in conjunction with Kathleen Donohoe of University Human Resources.
The Initiative, sponsored and advised by an executive committee of senior University leaders, has created the website and other print and electronic materials, policy guidelines, and a training program for UM human resource professionals and managers. It also works toward improved communication and coordination among UM employees who address domestic and sexual violence. For more information, contact stopabuse@umich.edu.
