in their own words, the potential to change lives

"The semester that I spent as a visiting research scholar at CEW provided me with a unique opportunity to focus on my research.  The Jean Campbell Research fund provided financial support for transcription ofleslie bloom, jean campbell research scholar my interview data and a wonderful University of Michigan student as a research assistant; her help was invaluable to me and I think that her academic research skills scholarship grew in the process too.  Being at the CEW gave me the precious time to immerse myself in reading, analyzing my data, and writing up my research in a more timely manner than I could have at my home institution.  But perhaps one of the best results of being a visiting research scholar, is that it also gave me the opportunity to do my research surrounded by the most collegial and supportive group of professionals I have ever met, for which I will always be grateful."

Leslie Bloom, PhD, CEW Jean Campbell Research Scholar, 2005; Associate Professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Program in Women's Studies at Iowa State University
