Mission
The Adelia Cheever Program, a Michigan Learning
Community, develops exceptional leaders and responsible global
citizens by creating a close community within the larger university
in which students can cultivate vital skills, knowledge, and
support. The Cheever Program values the Cheever legacy,
multiculturalism and diversity, international perspectives, every
woman's experience, and life-long learning.
Cheever students participate in a variety of activities that prepare them to live, work and lead in our world society, regardless of their academic or career pursuits.
What's in it
for you?
- leadership opportunities through chairing
committees or mentoring peers
- a small community of like-minded students
within a larger university
- scholarships
- opportunities to network with alumnae of all
ages, university leaders, and faculty
- living in a small women's residence hall on
central campus
- learning opportunities without having to
leave your home
- getting to know others from diverse
backgrounds
Cheever participants live
together in Helen Newberry Residence. U.
S. and international students benefit from this small, supportive
environment that facilitates cultural exchange, knowledge of world
events and perspectives, and a smooth transition to University
life for new students.
