Chemistry 211-400 (211 Honors)

"Investigations in Chemistry"

Chemistry 211 H is designed to acquaint you with some basic techniques used in organic chemistry laboratories to investigate chemical phenomena and to make you familiar with the properties of a variety of chemicals. Your laboratory work will reinforce and make less abstract the material you are
learning in Chemistry 210. Some of the learning will be collaborative, but the majority of the experimental work you do will be individual. You will become skillful in handling chemicals, in deciding what further kinds of data you need answer your research questions, and what techniques you
should use to acquire the data. You will have considerable freedom in organizing your own work and thinking about additional questions you would like to pursue in the laboratory. We hope that you enjoy the processes of discovery that will be open to you.
