Philanthropic Events and Charities

Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish Foundation is an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, in order to make their dreams come true, and to give them hope. Chi Omega supports Make-A-Wish Foundation, and recently granted a wish for a young boy. His dream was to go to Best Buy and be able to buy whatever he wanted. Chi Omega Eta raised enough money over the past year to grant him this wish. We are very proud to know that we have made someone's dreams come true, and will continue working towards granting another's wish.

Relay For Life

Chi Omega also supports Relay for Life, a 24 hour relay event where you walk, jog or run to raise money for the American Cancer Society. We set up a tent every year and have members come in shifts so that at least one person is walking the track the entire time.

Dance Marathon

An important additional philanthropic event that Chi Omega participates in is the University of Michigan's Dance Marathon. It is a student-run, non-profit organization that raises money for children in need of rehabilitation at Mott Hospital, in Ann Arbor, and Beaumont Hospital, in Royal Oak. Located below are pictures of Chi Omega's participating in Dance Marathon.

Greek Week

Chi Omega also takes part in Greek Week; two weeks of tough competition to raise money for various charities, such as Coach Carr Cancer Fund, Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Red Cross, Mott Children's Hospital, and Food Gatherer's.
