Overview

Today's highly integrated global economy demands that corporate executives, entrepreneurs, policy makers and even educators possess the international-business savvy that can best be developed through a wide-ranging liberal-arts background and extensive overseas experience, including foreign language and cultural immersion. As companies cut back on training programs and mentoring, business professionals are expected to be well-rounded, accomplished and prepared to fulfill challenging assignments, both at home and abroad.

The Center for International Business Education and Research, an umbrella organization headquartered at the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business, has proven over time that it has the insight, expertise and resources to help students, faculty and business leaders stay competitive in the global arena.

Since it was established in 1989, CIBER has pioneered new ways of thinking about international business and spearheaded initiatives to change the educational approach to preparing tomorrow's leaders. Its staff, funding and administrative support have contributed to the advancement of research efforts, overseas study and learning, and international commerce.

By spanning different disciplines within the University and reaching out to the business community and other university-based institutions, CIBER has mobilized and focused a wealth of resources in ways that will ensure the competitiveness of American business now and in the future.

CIBER stands ready to help you prepare for a successful career in the international marketplace and to assist you in achieving your personal and professional goals. For more information, Contact the CIBER.
