Intellectual Property Law in Italy

A new Ross elective, LHC 319, Intellectual Property Law, will be offered next May in Italy. The tentative dates are May 12-24, 2013.

This 3-credit course in Asolo, Italy provides a unique opportunity to learn about the management of intellectual property law issues from a domestic and international perspective in a unique international setting at CIMBA (the Consortium of Universities for International Studies).

In addition to classroom studies of intellectual property law with a Ross faculty member, this course will include activities such as visits to cultural and historical sites and meetings with business leaders.

Located in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains in the Veneto region of northern Italy, the CIMBA campus has a picturesque environment and is near a flourishing business community of over 450,000 businesses (accounting for nearly 20 percent of Italian exports), making it an apt environment for studying international business issues.

After the course ends, you are free to travel on your own, e.g., to other regions of Italy or neighboring European countries.

To apply for admission, please send a brief statement (250 words or less) explaining why you are interested in the course to Professor Lynda Oswald at ljoswald@umich.edu. Because enrollment is limited, you should apply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Admission will be granted on a rolling basis.
