Social Impact Programming
|

|
CIBE has established a social impact program that includes research studies, internships and consulting projects involving students and faculty from four University of Michigan schools and colleges. You can join this global effort and, at the same time, gain valuable experience in social entrepreneurship and social-impact management by taking part in a CIBE-sponsored group project organized through the Ross School's MAP (International Multidisciplinary Action Project) program. |
As an example, one MAP team comprising six students traveled to Washington, D.C., and six developing nations in an effort to identify micro-finance institutions willing to provide small loans and other financial services to low-income populations. In another project, students from engineering, business and public health helped to establish health-care clinics in Bangladesh garment factories. They also collected data on workers' health, measured productivity changes in factories and provided consulting services to local non-governmental organizations (NGOs). |
In addition to MAP, CIBE also sponsors student summer internships at global companies, NGOs and foreign-government agencies. If you are interested in becoming more involved in social entrepreneurship, these internships offer a great way to broaden your knowledge and experience in the field.
Opportunities vary from year to year. For information, Contact the CIBE.
