Interstate Programme

Take the opportunity to gain a better understanding of new developments in the European Union and their implications for transatlantic political and business relations with the United States by attending the 2008 Interstate Programme, the ninth in a series of educational programs for MBA students at top American and European business schools.

The goal of the Interstate Programme is to create a body of future business leaders with knowledge and understanding of the emerging new Europe and the confidence to engage with it. The Programme also seeks to expose future business leaders to high-level analysis, commentary and first-person experience with the European Union and to create an active network of future leaders from both

sides of the Atlantic who share a common interest in understanding the political, economic and cultural ties that bind them. Last year's event took place in the heart of Brussels, close to the institutions from which the European Union is run. As ever, the discussion-based learning was led not by academics, but by the senior officials, politicians and business leaders who are making the Europe of tomorrow, and focused on the theme of "European Union-United States Relations: Still in Need of Healing." During a series of seminars, you will have an opportunity to test your own ideas and views against those of politicians, business people, senior public officials and expert observers. You'll also be able to network with internationally focused students from other business schools, both in the U.S. and abroad.

The 2008 program ran from June 1-3 in Brussels. Fellowship funding is available from CIBE. Contact the CIBE if you are interested in attending.
