Overview

Where do you see yourself in five years? Doing business overseas with companies in China or India? Working for an American-based multinational firm in Southeast Asia or Latin America? Teaching international-business courses or conducting research on emerging economies at a U.S. or foreign university?

No matter where you're headed, the Center for International Business Education and Research can help you get there. CIBER provides a continuum of opportunity in international-business education, beginning as early as your sophomore or junior year in the BBA program, and progressing through your graduate years in the MBA program. The center also offers counseling at every stage to help you decide how best to prepare for your career in the globally interdependent business community.

With CIBER's assistance, you can gain high-level knowledge of global trends and management strategies, acquire proficiency in foreign languages and cultural interaction, and hone your international-business skills by actually studying, working and touring overseas. The International Undergraduate Summer Program, launched in 2007, now enables undergraduate students to study abroad in China, Costa Rica, or Europe for several weeks during the summer. MBA students can tailor their international-business experiences to meet their educational needs by participating in summer or semester-long study abroad programs conducted at leading Asian and European business universities.

On the University of Michigan campus, you have an opportunity to tap CIBER's vast resources. These include funding for dual degrees, doctoral research, and travel awards, as well as support for the Asian Business Conference, case-study competitions, and international consulting projects. These diverse offerings can help you broaden and deepen your classroom and work experience.

CIBER is the best way to get connected - and stay connected - as you explore the many possibilities for personal and professional development in international business. Contact CIBER for more information or to make a counseling appointment.
