Who is eligible to apply for the internships? Is there a foreign language requirement? What kinds of placements are available? How long do these placements usually last? Are these positions paid? How many internships do you offer? Are there multiple interns at one company? Can I have contact information from former interns? Would housing be arranged for me, or would I have to find it myself? What is the average cost of living in my location? Would I need a work permit and/or a visa? What kind of pre-departure information will I receive? I’ve never traveled outside the U.S. before. Where do I begin to make travel arrangements? Can I get UM academic credit for my internship? Why is there an application fee? When will I hear about my placement? How do I know what shots or medications I need to travel? Do I need travel insurance? Do I need to register my travel with the UM? Is there financial aid for internships? Are there scholarships or funding I can apply for which are not part of CIBE? If I am an international student, can I go back to my home country as part of the internship program?
