Lucius Vitellius (69 AD)
Family and Background
Son of a very powerful senator in the reign of Claudius, succeeded as a result of
leading a rebellion of the Rhine legions (entrusted to his command by Nero) against, first,
Galba, and, after his assasination, Otho.

- Defeat of his army by that of Vespasian at Cremona in northern Italy (October 69)
