Antoinette McKinney suffered broken bones, bruises, a miscarriage, and other injuries at the hands of her violent husband. She shot him in a struggle over a gun, as he was threatening her. She knew that if she dropped the gun, he would kill her. Even though hers was a classic, self-defense struggle over the gun, and should not have been charged or convicted, she was convicted of Murder.
