The Real Issue

The Real Issue is a quarterly publication of Christian Leadership Ministries, the faculty ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, and is provided free. It exists to present to Christian faculty members people, events, topics, and resources which are making a difference for Christ in higher education.

The Real Issue provides articles and stories designed to help you influence people's lives and the The University of Michigan as an institution for Christ! You can expect to read articles by experienced and committed Christian professors and other leaders on topics of faith and science, constitutional rights, political correctness, journalism, psychology, philosophy, and a variety of other topics.

Each publication will focus on a relevant issue, but it will regularly include other features as well. The Real Issue will keep you up to date on threats to religious freedoms inside and outside of the clasasroom. You will read about faculty groups who challenge or deafeat ethically or morally questionable university policies. Many times there will be practical tips on how faculty members can know and protect their rights.

Also on the practical side, you will read how professors seek to minister to their colleagues, or how they present the gospel attractively and appropriately to their students. You will see illustrations of how to organize Christian faculty members to present an evangelistic event on campus, and learn how to faculty are using their unique skills in the institutuional setting.

As a resource, you will find in The Real Issue names, addresses, phone numbers, and the Internet addresses of Christian Leadership Ministries' representatives around the U.S. Possibly you will pursue a degree or a teaching position at another university following your time at U-M. You can contct these professional staff members to link up with others who share a burden to positively influence the campus in your area, or simply for more information on Christian Leadership Ministries and its resources and strategies.

Also, each issue contains a list of books found to be helpful in professional and ministry activities. Occasionally The Real Issue will list other publications, opportunities, and ministries that can help you in your work on campus.
