Email Claim Reporting Address

Reporting a claim is now easier than ever. In addition to receiving faxed claim reports, Risk Management Services has a designated claims email address to receive your reports. University claims professionals will rapidly respond to your claim and assist you from beginning to end. Detailed information about services and claim submission is found on the Risk Management Services and Work~Connections’ Web sites.

  • Risk Management Claims: In the event of property damage, theft, university vehicle accidents, or non-employee injuries, a claim must be submitted to Risk Management Services for coordination and claims management. Early reporting is essential for successful claims resolution. Once damages have been sustained, Risk Management will provide restoration in a cost-effective manner and manage any related litigation.
  • Work~Connections Illness & Injury Program: The timely reporting of illnesses and injuries is required to meet federal and state legal requirements and help the University support the medical treatment and return-to-work needs of faculty and staff community.
    • Work-related Employee Injuries: Report all work-related illnesses and injuries to Work~Connections immediately (within 24 hours).
    • Contract Worker Injuries: Report work-related injuries sustained by contract workers if U-M provides the day-to-day supervision of the worker.
    • Non-Work-Related Disability Absences: Report all non work-related disability events resulting in ten or more disability days away from the workplace to receive medical case management assistance.
