The Martha Cook Front Desk is here to serve you! Buy guest meal tickets, pick up your packages and checkout your spare key. The Front Desk is staffed by Office Assistants (OAs) who are all building residents. They check to make sure that only residents are entering the building and that guests are escorted. They are also a great resource for information about the building. Break something and don't know what to do? Found something in the Gold Room- return it to the front desk.

If you are locked out of the dorm during office hours call the front desk using the number on the front doors to be let in to the building. Your spare room key can be checked out for 24 hours at the front desk. If you are locked out after office hours, call the staff member on duty to be let into the building or your room. The number of the staff member on duty is located on the front doors and on the front desk window.You may use the red phone outside or the house phone next to the office window if you are locked out of your room without your cell phone and need to be let in.

All mail sent to Martha Cook is managed by the Front Desk. Every resident has their own mailbox, information is handed out at move-in. If you forget your mailbox combination the Office Manager or Senior OA can provide you the information. US Mail and package slips for deliveries made before mail arrives are placed in resident mail boxes Monday-Saturday before 4pm. The slips for packages that arrive in late afternoon or evening may not get put in a resident's mailbox until the following day, but may be picked up at the front desk that evening. Packages may NOT be picked up without the appropriate package slip, no exceptions. You must contact the Office Manager or Senior OA if you have lost a package slip.
We do not sell any stamps or envelopes, however mail pre-paid or stamped may be mailed from the Front Desk. You may also send pre-paid UPS and Fed-Ex packages through the Front Desk. UPS comes on a daily basis usually before 1pm and you may leave your package with the OA at the desk. If you need to send something via Fed-Ex you must call or go online to schedule a pick before leaving your package at the Desk beacuse Fed-Ex only comes to the building on an as-needed basis.
The Front Desk is cashless. We no longer sell copies, faxes, pencils, stamps, blue books, etc. All of these items are readily available nearby. Guest meal must be purchased using Blue Bucks. Only escorted guests of Martha Cook residents may eat in the dining hall. We do not give change in quarters, so make sure to have your own supply for parking meters or laundry. Blue Bucks may be used for laundry as well as for other eateries on campus. Furniture storage and lost keys are billed to student accounts.Any Blue Bucks left on a students account at the end of the academic year are returned to them.
Items available for rent from the Front Desk include, cots, umbrellas and irons, and should be returned promptly once you are done using them. This year there is not cost for the use of cots. All items must be signed in and out of the front desk.
Residents who subscribe to Newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, may pick up their newspapers at the Front Desk. They should be available for pick up as soon as the building opens in the morning. Please do not leave your Newspapers at the Front Desk for more than 3 or 4 days.
Lost and Found items should be returned to the Front Desk. If you think you have lost something in the building check at the desk. Building staff return things they find in the bathrooms and common spaces to the desk.
