• As of 3.30.2012, the gis.help@umich.edu email address has been retired. GIS-related support requests are now handled by several different units on campus:

• The license server for ArcGIS 9.3 has been changed to license-arcgis.engin.umich.edu (previously licenses.itd.umich.edu or license7.engine.umich.edu). The old locations will no longer work, so users of version 9.3 will need to update this information in ArcGIS Desktop Administrator. ArcGIS v. 9.3 License Manager Change Steps:

1. Open the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Administrator (be sure to close all ArcGIS desktop applications first)

2. Click on the folder for License Manager

3. Click the change button

4. Type in the new location: license-arcgis.engin.umich.edu

5. Click OK to close the Change License Manager box

 

• Click HERE for ArcGIS Desktop v.10 provisioning files UPDATED WITH VBA (single use, concurrent use, server) that expire March 30, 2013.
  • Note that you must be connected to the UM wireless network (on campus) in order for the update to take place
  • Be sure to unzip the downloaded files
  • If you are updating the license for ArcGIS v. 10 single use, double click on that provisioning file
  • A wizard should launch. Leave all of the default settings as you work through the wizard
  • You will need to enter in YOUR email address when prompted (you can also update the contact information for yourself, or leave it as is)
  • Continue with the default settings as you work through the wizard and finish

 

• ArcGIS Desktop version 10 at the ArcInfo level is available. Please contact ITS (lic.its@umich.edu) to obtain the software:

  • CSCAR provides free spatial analysis and GIS consultation to graduate students, faculty, and staff at the University of Michigan. We are also available for collaborative research and contract work, including non-University GIS consultation. We support ArcGIS Desktop (ArcInfo\ArcEditor\ArcView) and R.
