Walk-in Consulting Policy
Walk-in consultations are designed to assist with short questions (30 minute maximum) from the CSCAR
front desk staff on a first-come first-served basis. The front desk staff cannot guarantee 30 full minutes of
uninterrupted assistance because they have other duties that also require their attention.
Topics appropriate for a walk-in include:
Database design and management
Selecting appropriate statistical methodology
Implementing statistical methodology in the following statistical software packages:
SPSS(PASW), SAS, Stata, R, NQuery, ArcGIS, etc.
Interpretation and presentation of results
General Software Questions
Walk-in Consultants will not:
Assist with coursework
Provide more than 30 minutes of assistance
Enter your data, perform your analysis, or complete related tasks for you
Provide a written report of your analysis
Provide consulting services to undergraduates EXCEPT for honors students
writing a thesis and UROP students
Please note that consultants provide statistical consultation during appointments,
not contract work. If you require contract assistance, please speak with
