: Installing SAS V9.x

The CSCAR Guide to Setting Up a New

Installation of SAS Software V9.1 for Windows

To Install SAS V9.1, you should have received CDs from the Computer
Showcase Software Sales, or whomever handles your SAS software
distribution, along with an email containing a .txt file of the form:

Sas91_XXXXXX.txt

This file contains the licensing information for SAS V9.1. Download this
file, and save it on your machine in a directory that you can remember. Do
not change the name of this file. Then follow these steps:

1. Insert the Setup Disk in your CD drive, and under "End User Steps"
select "Verify System Requirements". Follow the instructions to update
your computer to be used with SAS V9.1.

2. Once this step is completed, your computer may reboot. After
rebooting, select "Install SAS 9.1 Foundation". The SAS Install Shield
Wizard will appear. Click "Next".

3. In the "Retrieve SAS Installation Data" window, select "File" and
click "Next".

4. Use the browse button to find the location of your SAS Instatllation
Data File, and select it. This is the .txt file containing the licensing
information that you saved on your computer.  The full path and file name
of this file should appear in the dialog box. Click "Next".

5. A window containing the list of Products licensed to the U. M. SAS site
license will appear. Click "Next".

6. Continue with the installation of SAS.

If you have questions that are not answered above, please email
sas.help@umich.edu, and specify the step in the process that is not
working.
