The Postdoctoral Program
The post-doctoral position is one piece of the infrastructure through which scholarship
is developed.
Ph.D. students who wish to become faculty get an opportunity to more fully develop
their scholarly identity by bringing their doctoral expertise into a new situation.
In 1996-97, the Research Corporation supported a UCLA Ph.D. student who spent a year
at the University of Michigan after having completed a conventional post-doctoral
position at Michigan State University. Professor Nancy Goroff is currently an Assistant
Professor of Chemistry at CUNY-Stony Brook.
In 2002-03, we will be adding a post-doctoral associate to our Studio Chemistry development
team.
We are actively seeking general mechanisms for supporting post-doctoral associates
in our program, and we invite inquires from interested students so that we might
work together to make these connections happen.
