Dick came to Michigan from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1954. He played right wing during the 1954-1955 through 1956-1957 seasons. Dick scored 39 goals and 61 assists for a career total of an even 100 points.
 
He played on two NCAA Championship teams and Michigan lost in the finals in his senior year. Michigan's record during his career was 56 wins, 12 losses and 4 ties. Dick's most memorable experience at Michigan was winning the 1955 NCAA Championship with only 12 players. Weighing only 135 pounds when he played for Coach Vic Heyliger, Dick was named to the 1955 All-American team. In 1957 he was named Michigan's most valuable player. Dick graduated from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts.
