| Originally from Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, Bob enrolled at Michigan in the fall of 1960. He played in goal from 1960-1961 to 1963-1964. During his career at Michigan, the team won 54 games, lost 23 and tied 4. | |
| In the 1961-1962 season, Bob was honored as the first player to win the Dekers "Most Colorful Sophomore" Award as the goalie that led Michigan to the NCAA Championships in Utica, NY. Michigan finished in third place in the tournament. One of Bob's more memorable experiences at Michigan was scoring a hat trick while playing center on the fourth line in a game against Ohio State in 1964. As a goalie, Bob was All-American in 1962, Michigan's Most Valuable Player in 1963 and the Most Valuable Player in the NCAA Championship game in 1964, won by Michigan 6-3. After graduation, Bob played professional hockey for the Seattle Totems, the Fort Wayne Komets and the San Francisco Seals. | |
