Years Played: 1965,1966,1967

Dean is from Detroit, MI and played for the Detroit Olympics and Detroit Junior Red Wings before enrolling at the University of Michigan. Playing left wing for coach Al Renfrew from 1964-65 through 1966-67, Dean's senior year was a winning one as Michigan's record was 19-7-2. Nicknamed Woody, Dean scored an overtime goal in sudden death against Denver for his first collegiate goal. He also remembers scoring two goals, including the game winner, in captain Mel Wakayabashi's last home game for Michigan.

Dean has many memorable experiences while playing for the maize and blue and one of them was playing for some great captains. He also cherishes his life-long friendship he has made with his former teammates, the fans of Michigan hockey, and the athletes from other Michigan sports. He graduated from the college of Literature, Science and the Arts in 1972 in computer and communication sciences. Dean played one season in Europe after graduation and retired to senior hockey and retired again to old-timers hockey.
