3/83: Motion to withhold money from IHQ due to lack of help with rush fails. JR Russell Award created for meritorious service.
1983-84
General Notes: New ABT created.
10/83: IRS bills DChi $2400 for unpaid taxes.
11/83: JR Russell intiated (honorary). Video game machine breaks for good. House speakers purchased for $450. Voting rights revoked if people miss more than 2 chapter meetings per semester or owe house bills 2 weeks overdue.
1/84: Good guy award created. All members not making efforts to pay their bills will be delegated to inactive status. Out-of-housers with delinquent accounts will be charged $75 before being allowed to participate in Delta Chi events.
2/84: 4 persons barred from the house; anyone else can be by a majority vote of the chapter.
1984-85
9/84: Out of house dues raised from $60 to $70. Awards are good guy, light, and dork. Big brothers must purchase active pins for little brothers.
10/84: Building Corp raises rent, exec board fires accountant, sets up an Alumni Donation Plan. Demerit system enacted with penalty points; (75: missing initiation. 40: missing a mandatory rush function or pinning. 30: missing work sessions or homecoming. 20: missing a cleanup or setup for a social event or not doing house jobs or bussing. 10: not paying house bills or missing chapter meetings). Anyone exceeding 75 pts in one semester or 125 points in one year will be subject to a trial vote or lose the right to retain his room for the next semester provided that someone with a higher number of house points wants the room.. Problems with returning kegs, Building Corp raises rent, fires accountant, institutes new checkbook system.
11/84: "A" on Kelly & Company (local talk show) to talk about hazing.
12/84: House dog removed. alcohol banned from chapter meetings. DChi participates in Michigan Fraternity Association.
1/85: DChi pledges cannot attend Chi Delphia initiation due to the similarity of the two ceremonies. New meeting room established, TV moved to basement. Books computerized. Pledge dues set at $190. Fraternity can override Chi Delphia bids by a 2/3 vote. Pipes above kitchen burst. Motion to give "D" a $40 rent credit fails, but motions to give him 15 house pts and not have a house job pass. Mutual fund sold for $5,500.
2/85: Pledges successfully complete a keg raid, build a coffin. New dumpster and parking sign.
3/85: Pop committee merged with social. Checking acct has $2000 balance. Composite alarm system installed. New kitchen folding chairs. Windsor pledges steal our charter. Rent is $340/mo. Out-of-House dues are $125. Toad's Hall shall be renovated into a work room for tool storage and light construction work. "Harbor Lights" renovated. Got our charter back. Pledges from Illinois do $200 worth of damage. All members are required to work an 8 hour work day and donate the proceeds to the chapter (for example, cleaning up after Michigan basketball games at Crisler Arena).
4/85: Chapter can suspend a member's voting rights by a 2/3 vote providing they have missed more than 2 chapter meetings. Social Chmn will no longer be personally liable for any deficit in the social fund not approved by the chapter. 33 year-end awards awarded. Officers must write job descriptions and suggestions for successors. $9,851 in uncollected rent owed by brothers. First mention of pass the gavel. 15 house pts granted for making up a mix tape instead of hiring a DJ for parties.
1985-86
9/85: "D" reports investment acct at $3200, checking at $4500, accts receivable at $1000. annual budget is $47,000. New living room carpet. "Pride Board" established to honor those contributing more than 10 hrs of time to house upkeep during a month with a pizza party. 1/2 cost of carpeting for a room paid by the house. Concrete poured for dumpster behind house. GPA for winter '85 is 2.978, cumulative is 2.749.
10/85: Summer rent will be $300/mo. Rent raised from $1200 to $1400/sem. Steward made an elected position. $400 in homecoming donations received. Bylaws and motions of significance compiled for years 1983-85. "B","F",MAL, and Steward are 1 semester positions.
11/85: Accounts receivable is $12,000. AM fees raised to $250. Dues raised to $1460 per term. Out-of-house dues raised to $150/term. Pledge Trainer position changed to Pledge Counselor. DChi pledges allowed to attend Chi Delphia initiation. Any AM earning above a 3.4 GPA or higher will get 10% off pledge fees.
12/85: Grand Central made a triple.
2/86: House stereo stolen. GPA for Fall '86 is 2.9, cumulative 2.8.
3/86: Community Service, Finance committees created. Chimney cleaned, new dryer.
4/86: Chi Delphia Sisters of the White Carnation disbanded; all relations between Chi Delphia and Delta Chi Michigan Chapter are abolished. Had 4 kegs at happy hour party.
1986-87
9/86: Homecoming donations are $423. Winter '86 GPA is 2.55, cumulative 2.75.
10/86: Rent raised to $400/mo. Little sister program created.
1/87: Chapter refuses to let boarder of questionable character in the house because the chapter needs money.
3/87: Committee of Standards investigates brothers' party conduct. Fall '86 GPA is 2.85.
1987-88
9/87: Regionals scheduled for Michigan canceled in order to concentrate on rush. Payment for steward reduced to $25/mo. Chapter meeting discussion limited to 15 mins, but can be extended by chapter vote. Financial crisis caused by low membership. Parking fee is $35/mo. for non-members.
1/88: Chapter switched from 10PM to 7:30PM.
2/88: Coke machine price lowered to $0.35. Food service cut for remainder of the term due to financial mismanagement. Dishes/silverware rationed.
3/88: Out-of-house dues raised to $200/term. Christians rent house for summer '88 for $5000.
4/88: Assistant "D" cannot run for another office but gets 10 house pts.
1988-89
1/89: "D" starting a new petty cash fund.
3/89: New tables and chairs, driveway fixed, all transfer students have room priority below that of a new initiate.

1989-90
9/89: Bought new TV and ping pong table. $32,000 operating budget.
10/89: Homecoming brought in $1750. Bylaw committee formed. Awards are dork, PW, cop out, light, and good guy. IFC declares dry rush for next fall.
11/89: All committee heads elected instead of being appointed by the "A". $300 scholarship will be sponsored by Delta Chi for incoming male freshmen.
1/90: All motions must be brought to exec. before each chapter meeting. ABT golf outing planned. Catering by Brown Jug. First mention of Ring the Bell party.
2/90: Building Corp approves money for roof repairs, new dining room floor, limestone for the driveway. Expulsion trial.
1990-91
9/90: Catering by Thano's Lamplighter starts. $5,000 in outstanding receivables (ad hoc committee formed to collect). $700 spent on house repairs. Chapter meetings moved to 7PM. Pool table refelted.
10/90: $740 in homecoming donations. Enforcing $50 social dues from every member. Steward going with paper plates and cups. Roof construction, lead in shower water.
11/90: All 1-year positions will run from Sept-May starting 9/91. "B" changed to one-year position. First mention of "Death of a Fraternity". No more bid giving in dorms. No more open parties. No more kegs in the chapter house.
1/91: Received warning from IHQ about membership size. Police recover items stolen during party.
3/91: 100th anniversary committee formed. Re-establishment of goal-setting. "B" will serve as parliamentarian. Exec and committee head meetings are closed.
4/91: Out-of-house dues raised to $250/term, rent raised to $470/mo. Basketball court constructed during Summer '91.
1991-92
9/91: Goals set at retreat. Winter '91 GPA is 2.88, cumulative is 3.03.
10/91: $1080 in homecoming donations. Leaky pipes destroy chapter room and dance floor ceilings. Outside of house painted. Non DChi's cannot participate in football. AM's must observe an exec meeting.
11/91: "D" must serve for 3 semesters (1 as assn "D", 2 as "D").
12/91: Any committee head going over budget is responsible for that money personally unless approved of by the chapter.
1/92: Any exec member missing more than 2 meetings lose their voting rights on exec and may petition exec to get them back.
2/92: Risk management committee established and outlined. Candidates for "A" run chapter meetings. Assn. "D" is check signer.
3/92: Bid committee established and outlined, "E" establishes on-line alumni database, must put all alumni birthdates and initiation dates on database to mail cards and letters. Demerit system abolished, "A" and "D" get first two room choices. Rooms selected by lottery. New bylaws accepted.
4/92: 10% of all surplus money must be put in a money market account separate from the checking account. Room and shower created in the basement. New carpeting from the stairs to the 3rd floor.
1992-93
9/92: Exec cannot spend more than $200 without chapter's approval.
11/92: Motion to put Rush Chair on exec board fails.
1/93: "B" goes first in officer reports ("A" had gone first previously).
2/93: Judicial Board created. Fines for non-participating actives can be appealed to the "F" or the J-Board. Subpeonas issued by J-Board.
3/93: Fines initiated through Judicial Board. $285 ceiling established for out-of-house dues. Sailing Club banquet at the house gets out of hand.
4/93: Rent is $470/mo., including meals.
1993-94
9/93: Fine policy repealed.
10/93: $825 collected for homecoming.
11/93: More than $200 can be spent without exec approval by the "A" and "D" in the event of a house emergency. Duties of MAL put in bylaws.
1/94: New TV purchased. New roof and kitchen. Fall '93 GPA is 3.06.
2/94: Forced depledging of AM by vote of the chapter.
3/94: Current house points system passed. Out of house dues set at $300.
4/94: $25 awards given out to 12 brothers for outstanding achievements throughout the semester. Steward made an appointed position.
1994-95 (No CMRs 11/7/94-4/4/95)
10/94: Chapter meetings can be extended over 90 mins by a 3/4 vote. ERB established. New chapter room curtains (courtesy of Mrs. Vandenbelt).
1995-96
10/95: Looking into house computer. Over $900 collected for homecoming.
11/95: Motion to make Rush Chair an exec position fails. Motion to allow AM's to run for committee head positions passes.
1/96: Brothers are on academic probation if they do not turn in their grade reports within 2 weeks of deadline. J-Board passes house point rush incentive program.
2/96: Current financial bylaws passed (Sec 3, D1, Sec 3, L6, Sec 3 N). Expectations of exec board created by committee heads created.
4/96: Current committee head system established (external, internal, rush). Summer rent raised from $1200 to $2000. Boarder rent raised to $300. Rent and meal plan separated. Rent set at $370/mo.
1996-97
9/96: AM dues raised to $280. Exec members must keep officer notebooks. Parents' Weekend tailgate party.
10/96: $900 in homecoming donations. Chapter GPA is 3.06. New sidewalks poured, money approved for new basement room. Cornerstone from 1892-1919 placed on front lawn.
11/96: All alumni owing money removed from e-mail group. Pool table moved upstairs. Chapter buys Michigan Stadium brick reading "Delta Chi Michigan Chapter".
2/97: New electrical system, phone system installed.
3/97: Basement room Alaska completed.
