Recruitment General Information

Formal recruitment takes place in the fall each year and is comprised of four sets of parties: Mixers, Second Sets, Third Sets and Preference Parties. It is a mutual selection process that fourteen sororities at University of Michigan participate in. Recruitment is filled with activities designed to offer prospective members the chance to learn about the Panhellenic sororities in a concentrated period of time. It is an opportunity for students to meet the sorority members, ask questions, define financial obligations, identify time commitments, and describe membership requirements. Whether or not you decide to join a Panhellenic sorority, recruitment is a great way to meet people and get acquainted with life at University of Michigan.

 Who selects the new members?

Only collegiate Delta Gamma members at the University of Michigan have the privilege of selecting our new members. Our Fraternity has an established procedure to guide chapters in this process to ensure consistency, while the members themselves make their own decisions. In Delta Gamma, we pride ourselves on being individuals. Through our diversity of personalities and interests, we are able to strengthen our bonds of sisterhood, and our ties with our community. Our members are looking for women who will bring the qualities that our members themselves hold near and dear such as:

-Lifelong commitment to Delta Gamma

-Desire for service to others

-Achieving academic potential

-Varied leadership positions, activities and talents

-Strong moral character

-Desire to belong to an organization with high ideals and a strong sisterhood  Why Delta Gamma?

Consistent with our founders' thoughts over 129 years ago, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships and our vows of sisterhood emanate all aspects of our Fraternity. Delta Gamma has a strict no-hazing policy. We encourage an atmosphere which will foster high ideals of friendship among college women, promote their educational and cultural interests, create in them a true sense of social responsibility, and develop in them the best qualities of character. Every member is unique and yet we all join together in a single bond of friendship through Delta Gamma.

Delta Gamma is more than just a collegiate experience; it is a lifetime of commitment, support and opportunity awaiting you!
