The term, "homosexual" wasn't invented until 1869. But since it's so much easier for a persecuting majority to condemn members of a minority by labeling, here are some other labels assigned to homosexuals living in 18th-Century England:
Molly -- an effeminite homosexual whose social life was spent within the homosexual subculture dominated by transvestism and role reversal. In a sexual relationship, the molly took the passive role during anal intercourse.
Sodomite --the legal term for homosexuals in the 17th and 18th century and the most commonly used label.
