Plot

Victoria "V.I." Warshawski, a female private investigator, is about to leave her old, decrepit office building for good. However, problems arise when a mysterious homeless woman and her family show up at Vic's office. Then, after an altercation-filled dinner party, the murdered body of Deirdre Messenger, a colleague of Vic's in various charitable endeavours, shows up on Vic's desk.

As with most mysteries, the plot of Tunnel Vision is driven by the protagonist's desire to find out "who dun it." As Vic follows the trail deeper, encountering flooded tunnels, locked offices, children in desperate need of help and hired goons packing heat, she begins to find that the forces behind Deirdre's murder are not only sinister, but out to get her.
