The Virtual Laboratory: Accident Training and Prevention through Simulation

Welcome to the Virtual Laboratory! The purpose of this laboratory is to train the user about the dangers of unsafe laboratory practices through virtual "accidents." Each year many people are injured in accidents in chemical laboratories which could have been prevented or the effects diminished if proper safety procedures had been followed. It is hoped that through the experiencing of "virtual accidents" users will become more aware of the perils of failure to comply with laboratory regulations.

Feel free to explore to explore the laboratory and experience these accidents for yourself. Two different safety rules are demonstrated in the following scenarios. An experiment is set up in the far corner of the lab table as you enter the laboratory.
