Family Fun Night - Living in the Wilderness

Exhibit Museum. 7-9:00 pm

The Exhibit Museum of Natural History will welcome "Wild Heart" to the Museum on Friday, February 6 from 7-9 p.m. for a Family Fun Night program, "Living in the Wilderness." The program features an introduction to skills for living in the wild used by indigenous peoples around the world, and will include hands-on activities. Topics may include indentification and gathering of wild edibles, building shelters from natural materials, water purification and the art of finding safe water, and friction fire by the ancient method of Bow Drill. Reservations are required; call (313) 936-5834. Prices: $5/adult, $3 seniors & children 6-12, under 5 free, discount prices for Museum members. Pay at the door.

Founded by Dr. Patrick Munson and Andrew Buesser, "Wild Heart" offers a variety of classes for children and adults in wilderness awareness, including wilderness living skills, animal tracking, and wilderness philosophy.
