Susan Jacobson

Environmental Educator

Susan Jacobson received her MA in Zoology in 1983 from the University of Florida and her Ph.D. in 1987 from Duke University in Resource Ecology/Natural resource Education. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at the University of Florida, Gainseville.

Dr. Jacobson's research, lecturing, and teaching fileds include: biological conservation and sustainable development in developing countries, focusing on natural resource education and park program planning and evaluation; university-level environmental education and human dimensions of wildlife management.

Dr. Jacobson is currently the Director of the Program for Studies in Tropical conservatin at the University of Florida, Gainsville.

Dr. Jacobson has published several books, including Conserving Wildlife: International Education and communication Approaches. (1995), The Bay Island: Nature and People, 1992, and Kinabalu Park , 1986.
