Bringing together teachers, parents, and
children
for race, gender, and national origin equity
in mathematics and science education
General Information
Michigan training sessions for 2006-2008 will be supported by a Michigan Title II Improving Teacher Quality Grant through the Michigan Department of Education. This grant makes it possible to offer classes at no charge.
For these Leadership Workshops, school teams from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Flint and Detroit school districts are offered first priority for registration, but spaces are often available for school teams from other districts. Those wishing to register should do so early, as all spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Leadership Workshop participants are asked to attend as part of a school team that includes a minimum of three persons. School teams often include administrators, teachers, aides, and parents, including team members from Bilingual Education, ESL, Title I, Indian Education, HeadStart and EvenStart Programs, among others.
