The reaction

C2H6(g) + 2Br2(g) C2H4Br2(g,l) + 2HBr(g)

is to be carried out at 200 and 2500 kPa. The vapor pressure of 1, 2-dibromomethane at 200 is 506.5 kPa. Calculate the conversion of ethane at which condensation first begins. Plot the concentration and molar flow rates of each species as well as the total as a function of conversion for a stoichiometric feed. The volumetric flow rate is 0.5 dm3/s. (Answer: Xcond = 0.609) Are there a set of feed conditions (e.g equal molar) such that the concentration of C2H6(g) will be constant after condensation begins?
