Part of the mission of FOCUS is to provide outreach to
scientists working in the area of coherent and ultrafast optical science,
as well as to the larger community.
The
2006 Physics Olympiad We are delighted to sponsor the 2006 Physics
Olympiad. The main objective is to provide a healthy and fun academic
competition for high-school students.
FOCUS
Teaching Modules Conferences To contribute to the enhancement of middle
and high-school education, FOCUS is interested in developing a collection
of teaching modules which would bring the "cutting-edge" research
ideas explored in our center to the classroom
Saturday
Morning Physics FOCUS members Chitra Rangan and Jeffery Guest were
part of the Saturday Morning Physics programme in the fall of 2002. The
lectures were designed to give the common person an understanding of some
of the latest concepts in Physics.
