ASME/SWE Fun Run 2009

On Sunday March 29th, 2009 the University of Michigan Chapters of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Society of Women Engineers are teaming up to host the 9th annual 5K Charity Fun Run/Walk. This charity event benefits the Child and Family Life Department of the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital of the University of Michigan. The Fun Run generally attracts over 200 runners, and we expect this year to be bigger than ever! This year, the fun will begin and end at Nichols Arboretum, at the entrance near Mary Markley Hall and the Ronald McDonald House. The run/walk will start at 12:00 noon, but please arrive by 11:30 am. There will be shuttles to the event; pickup will be in front of the USB parking garage, across the street from Palmer Commons. The run/walk costs $10 for pre-registration or $15 if you register the day of the run, which begins at 10:30 am. The registration price includes snacks and refreshments, as well as a ticket for the post-race raffle. Post race raffle prizes include: 3 $10 gift certificates from bd's Mongolian BBQ, 4 t-shirts from Moosejaw, 1 dinner for 4 at Cosi and 4 $5 gift certificates from Buffalo Wild Wings. We are going to be having a 50/50 raffle, and the last person to cross the finish line will draw the winning ticket. We will be selling 1 ticket for $1, 5 tickets for $3, and 10 for $5. Those who pre-register will receive a free 2009 Fun Run t-shirt! All proceeds from the 5k Fun Run will go to the area of greatest need of the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. In addition to the race, we will also be selling Childhood Cancer Awareness Ribbons on race day for $5. We appreciate any contribution to the children that you make!
