The University of Michigan, with the assistance of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, has established a program to improve the recruitment and retention of women graduate students in engineering and the physical sciences. The Graduate Experience Project is one of the first programs in the United States tailored to meet the special needs of women pursuing advanced degrees in science and engineering.
