• How can I check the status of my order?
A Student Gift Coordinator should respond to your request within one business day. If you haven't received an email within one business day, contact our Managers at giftorder@umich.edu.
• Why can't I choose the time of delivery of my student's gift bag?
Our gift delivery service is staffed by U of M student employees, with supervision of full-time staff members. Our dedicated students complete all deliveries, so gift schedules are contingent upon student class schedules. One should also consider that the front desks of residence halls have limited hours. In general, gift bags will be delivered between 1PM-5PM weekdays.
• How fast can a gift bag be delivered?
We ask for 5 business days' notice for all gift deliveries. However, in some cases we may be able to accommodate a quick turnaround. The best bet is to submit the online request, and a Student Gift Coordinator will respond to your request within one business day. Note: this service is not available on weekends.
• Can I personalize the card that is delivered with my student's gift bag?
Yes! There are several small gift cards on the online request form. You simply choose the card you like, type your message in the box provided, and our students will write that message verbatim on the small gift card that is included. Comparable substitutions may be made based on card availability.
• Are the gift bags delivered to my student's room?
Gift baskets will be delivered to the front desk of the residence hall, and our Student Gift Coordinators send an email to the recipient, instructing him or her to stop by the residence hall front desk for a surprise package.
• How do I know my student will receive their gift bag?
A Student Gift Coordinator should respond to your request within one business day. Barring weather or other emergencies, the gift bag will be delivered to the front desk of the residence hall where the student lives. In the event that we fail to deliver your gift bag in a timely manner, a full refund will be granted. Checks subsequently received in the mail will be shredded and/or returned to the requesting customer. Our deliveries are completed by our wonderful, empowered, dedicated students, and the service is overseen by full-time professional staff members. We are all 100 percent committed to customer service.
• What forms of payment can I purchase gift bags?
We provide this service on the honor system. You place your order, we complete the order, and then you mail us a check. At present, we do not accept credit cards. For our own protection, we require the student's UM ID number on the online request form. In the event that a parent or other gift bearer fails to pay within 30 days, the student's university account will be charged the full amount plus a service fee of $10.
• Can I pick and choose what is in my student's gift bag?
Absolutely! To assist you, our website suggests several different gift bag and balloon bouquet options, or you can "build your own." If there is a specific balloon color or snack product you would like, type the details in the "Special Instructions" box near the bottom of the online request form, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request. Comparable substitutions may be made based on product availability, but our Student Gift Coordinators will generally discuss options with you via email until you agree on a suitable package. This is why it's important to order as far in advance as possible, so we can work out the exact details and deliver the exact package you want!
• Can I cancel my order?
Upon mutual agreement and confirmation of the order (which is done by e-mail), the order is considered final and cannot be canceled. However, in the event that the order has not yet been billed, and staff has not yet been assigned, cancellations will be considered by the Management. When a cancellation is approved, checks subsequently received in the mail will be shredded and/or returned to the requesting customer.
• Can you deliver to someone off campus?
At present, our gift delivery service includes only campus residence halls.
• Can I add items to my student's gift bag?

• What are the different occasions that I can give a gift bag?
Anytime! Birthdays, Congratulations, Good Luck, Get Well, or for no reason in particular, other than to show your student that you're thinking about him or her!
• How does my student know that they received a gift bag?
Student Gift Coordinators send an email to the recipient on the day of the scheduled delivery, instructing him or her to stop by the residence hall front desk for a surprise package. We have found that students infrequently pick up "snail mail" at the front desk, so they need a little prompt from us.
•What other gift items can be delivered through this service?
At present, this service includes snack bags and balloons, but we welcome your suggestions! Please submit feedback and suggestions to giftorder@umich.edu.
