On September 14-16, 2006 the Global Feminisms project hosted a working conference, Changing the World, Changing the Academy, at the University of Michigan. For those unable to attend the conference, we have posted notes and summaries from the workshops, and have transcribed some portions of the opening session, as well as certain supplementary materials that may be of interest.

For supplementary materials used in the following workshops:

Introduction to Women's Studies: These excerpts from different interviews were used by the workshop facilitator to generate discussion about (1) definitions of feminism, (2) reproductive choice, and (3) transnational feminisms

Scholarship and Activism: These excerpts from different interviews were used by the workshop facilitators to generate discussion and provide examples about (1) the relationship between scholarship and activism, (2) linkages across movements within countries (India and Poland), (3) linkages across national movements, and (4) representations of feminism and activism.
