THE WAVE FIELD
Located in the courtyard on the Southeast side of the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Building (FXB),
this unique work of art was completed in 1995 by Maya Lin, the famous artist known for
designing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and the Civil Rights Memorial in
Montgomery, AL.

"TEAL" LIGHT AIRPLANE
The atrium of the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Building (FXB) is home to the "Teal", a light-weight
aircraft designed by the late aerospace professor emeritus Edgar J. Lesher. Prof. Lesher was
internationally known for his flights in this aircraft, which he built himself. Eight
record-setting flights were made in the period 1967–76.
