State Relations

The state government relations activities include monitoring legislation of interest to the University, arranging legislative meetings for members of the University administration and faculty, and communicating with policy makers on appropriations and other issues impacting higher education. Legislative inquiries are handled concerning the University's academic and research activities. The office is a conduit for inquiries from legislators' constituents.

Alumni Legislative Advocacy Program
The Alumni Legislative Advocacy Program is an effort of the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan and the University's Office of Government Relations to encourage, support, and coordinate alumni activities on behalf of higher education in the state of Michigan. The Michigan Advocate Newsletter is produced throughout the year.

Lansing Service Center
The Lansing Service Center enhances the ability of the University's faculty, administrators, staff, and students to stay in touch with state officials, alumni, prospective students, representatives from other universities, and citizens who want to have access to the resources of the University.

Wolverine Caucus
Wolverine Caucus members are U-M alumni working in and around State of Michigan government, including legislators, lobbyists, staff, and advisors who meet with UM experts on timely, relevant public policy subjects during the legislative session.
