Panhellenic Association Recruitment
Membership in a Panhellenic sorority begins with a process of mutual selection traditionally known as "Rush." Recruitment is the best way to learn about sorority life and make a decision about membership.
The Process
Formal Recruitment occurs only during the fall semester of each year. A Mass Meeting is held in early September. The Mass Meeting provides important details about the rush process. Even more information is available at the Sorority Forum, which presents the opportunity to meet members from each sorority and ask any questions students may have. Women interested in Rush must register prior to the advertised deadline.

Recruitment is comprised of four (4) sets of parties: Mixers, Second Set, Third Set, and Preference Parties. As recruitment progresses, sororities issue invitations and potential new members decide where they wish to visit again. At the end of this mutual selection process, sororities extend invitations to pledge (bids). A mixer is the time to get a brief look at each chapter and form a first impression of our sorority community as a whole. Second Set is the chance to actually learn what it's like to live in a sorority house and find out more about the countless opportunities available. Third Set is when potential new members learn about and participate in an important aspect of sorority life, philanthropy. Finally, Preference Parties are formal events with ceremonies at which members express personal feelings about their sisterhood.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a recommendation?

How do I know where to go?
The process and terminology may seem confusing, but you will be assigned recruitment officers, known as Rho Omegas. They are junior or senior sorority members who provide support and knowledge throughout Formal Recruitment.

The average cost the first year is $1,000. This is higher than upcoming years due to one-time costs. Financial information for each chapter is given out during Second Set Parties.
