| This international exhibition celebrates the 10,000-year-old culture of the Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan. Highlights include a large model of a seagoing canoe, carved for the exhibition by an Ainu craftsman; a full-size reproduction of a chisé, the home and center of Ainu life; and more than 200 archaeological and ethnological objects, as well as contemporary sculpture, textile art, painting, and jewelry. | ||||
