Porcelain Stories: From China to Europe

| Featuring over 200 exquisite ceramics, the exhibition will explore the global impact of porcelain from 6th century China to 18th century Europe. From the brilliance of Chinese blue and white to the elegance of Meissen porcelain, the exhibition will trace the evolution of porcelain, raising provocative questions about the relationship between art and technology and patronage and style, as well as porcelainUs role as a vehicle for major cross-cultural exchange. From monumental vases to tiny tea bowls, the exhibition will demonstrate the mediumUs versatility and will compare cross-cultural influences of style and ornament favored by emperors and kings, as well as those of specific factories and individual artistsU singular designs.
