Heavenly Earth: Ceramics of Ancient China from the Tsui Art

| The exhibits of Chinese ancient ceramics on display are on loan mainly from the Tsui Art Foundation. Dr. T.T. Tsui is an internationally reputed collector. He has established a private museum and an art foundation and has made worldwide contribution in the preservation of Chinese antiques and the promotion of Chinese culture. The exhibition consists of more than 300 pieces of ceramics throughout the ages. They include the painted and black pottery of the Neolithic period, the stamped pottery of the Spring and Autumn periods, the green lead glazed pottery of the Han dynasty, the high-fired green glazed stoneware of the Southern and Northern dynasties, the three-colour earthenware of the Tang dynasty, the qingbai porcelain of the Song dynasty, the underglaze blue porcelain of the Yuan dynasty and the polychrome porcelain of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Also on display are figures of ladies, courtiers, grooms, equestrians and animals. The exhibits are representative pieces of their kinds, possessing both historical as well as artistic values. | ||||
