Drawn from one of the largest collections of Ming and Qing period
cloisonne outside China, the exhibit showcases household objects such as
vases, candlesticks, dishes and jars as well as religious items such as
incense burners, altar sets and Buddhist figures. In order to trace the
evolution of styles and symbols in Chinese art through comparative
artistic mediums, examples of porcelain, jade and furniture, also amassed
by George Walter Vincent Smith in the 1800s, will be displayed alongside.
