Ready to Study, Ready to Work, Ready to Fight: Propaganda Posters
of North Vietnam
October 20, 2000 - September 1, 2001 | ||||
| This exhibit features many images that illustrate how the Vietnamese tried to secure a nation free of outside influences and rebuild the countryside. The poster art shows very little violence, with the exception of a few posters portraying the struggle against U.S. airpower. These images depict shot down aircraft and captured American pilots. Vietnamese posters focus primarily on the comradeship of the soldiers and their ties to the peasants, workers, and countryside. Political posters first appeared in Vietnam in 1946. | ||||
