Roger Shimomura: Selected Works
December 8, 2001 - March 10, 2002 | ||||
| A complement to Shimomura's An American Diary and Memories of Childhood series, this exhibit includes a group of paintings, lithographs, silk-screens and objects drawn from the artist's personal collection, local collectors, Microsoft Corporation and Greg Kucera Gallery, Seattle, WA. The artwork spans from 1983 to 2001, representing the last 18 years of Shimomura's artistic career. Many of the works reference more traditional Japanese aesthetics such as Ukiyo-e, woodblock prints, along with the artist's adaptation of American Pop Art. | ||||
