Re-Considered Crossings: Representation Beyond Hybridity
Begins January 2002 | ||||
| The exhibit is an arts and cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Vienna involving over 30 artists, writers, academics, curators and cultural workers from highly diverse backgrounds. The aim of the project is to encourage dialogue, the exchanging of art and ideas, and, importantly, to re-consider practices of cultural exchanges in the context of Asian art shown in Europe and America. Taking place in both Vienna and Hong Kong in two parts, the project presents an exciting series of seminars, lectures and exhibitions of lens-based art (photography, video and digital imagery, 2D and 3D) featuring work by both new and up-coming as well as established contemporary artists from Hong Kong and Vienna. Hong Kong artists include: Norman Jackson Ford, Dominique Harris, Holly Lee, Lee Ka Sing, Leung Chi Wo, Sarah Mack, Madeleine Marie Slavick, So Hing Keung, and Tsang Tak Ping. | ||||

Social Club
February 20 - March 10, 2002 | ||||
| The exhibit will not rely on any grand theme or heavy curatorial statement; rather, it will be an open exhibition of works from Para/Site friends and members, with attention focused on the individual artist. Over 30 artists will show works of their own interest and manners. | ||||
