•Clarity - Photographic Exhibition Three artists from Henan Province: Wang Tong, Wang Xianping, Gao Hongxun
October 30 - November 8, 2001

Clarityis an unmistakable simplicity, it agrees with the Way of Nature. Clarityis like a world awakened by a rooster's daybreak crows, shedding the heavy, drowsy suit of the night. Clarityin an artist's creation is a search for truth, an invasion of darkness, vagueness and ambiguity. Then it is, "Let there be light, and there was light". It is navigating and illuminating the darkness. Clarity, however, does not necessarily equal meaning. Ludwig Wittgenstein said, "Word is action." Action, action, and action. Find peace in action, gather your energy for the next impulse. A glimmer of light is a challenge to ambiguity because Clarity is in love with the daughter of darkness. His way of courting is like a flying banner, exposed to storms, tornadoes, lightening, rejection, slandering and sneering, hackneyed and stereotyped cliches mass produced by the criticism machine. Clarityalso means giving up some of your rights, exiling yourself into a vast horizon, involving yourself in an unprecedented expedition, and betting your last dime.
