		•Wong Jiju: Finding a Universal Language in Traditional Chinese Lacquer October 5 - November 5, 2001
			Exhibited in China and in Japan, Wong's works show innovative painting structure, careful tonal balances, and carry touches of classicism. Wong juxtaposes metallic with matte, golds with silvers, and smooth yet fleshy surfaces with faint traces of symbols of archetype-like-shapes. The breadth and scope of artistic adventure illuminated by Wong's works are indeed rare among modern Chinese art.

			The exhibit includes abstract and realistic oil paintings in modern or post-modern styles by leading contemporary Chinese artists, including Xiao Qing, Ma Choi and Wang Mingyue.
